Week 2 from Grandad

Dear children, grandchildren, mothers and other people's children,

Last week was a little training and lots of settling in. Among other exciting events was our great water leak. At first we thought it was over pressure in the lines, so I kept adjusting the regulator at the local connector, but we kept having a leak under the sink and then the carpet. Finally we went to the RV store and they suggested we bring it in. The problem was was a missing o-ring. Boy do I feel sheepish. Fortunately the Savior is the good shephard, so I'm safe.

We did sessions Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Friday the Temple was swamped and Saturday we ran out of time. (See item above plus we had a pancake breakfast with the other missionaries in Zion's Camp and a charity dinner for the local museums.)

We went by the Martin Harris Farm (house burned down in 1831), while meeting some interesting people, especially when we climbed the Hill Cumorah for our daily walk. (Not THAT interesting. A long time member converted by the Hill with lots of interesting stories about his life here in New York.)

And of course had to shop. What is most uplifting is our study, both individual and together. I am enjoying Tad Calister's Infinite Atonement again. The eternal in the Atonement and the vast expanse of the doctrine of Christ it encompasses is amazing.

Grandma and I are studying 3 Ne 12 verse by verse as it leads up to 12:48. "Be ye therefore perfect." Put in that perspective each verse has much more weight as it leads to Christ.

Our little house is easy to keep straight and clean and we are enjoying it immensely. Of course we have to do the dishes as soon as we make them dirty, no room for anything else.

The branch is tiny, 23 local members this Sunday. We feel we can be of great help. Grandma played the organ.

We miss you all and wish you were here. We pray for each of you daily. Love Grandad
