Week 3 from Grandad

Hiyo, Grandad the Frog here!

At least I feel like Kermit with all the rain. Someone check to see if I am turning green.

Monday was lots of fun until I passed out when I tried to stand after kneeling. Didn't hurt, just felt embarrassed. It is also a running joke among the missionaries. Lucky me!

We had FHE with President Black; Brother Morey spoke about symbols on the temples. Really fascinating. The circle inside the square you see on the outside of many temples represents heaven touching earth, for example.

Every Tuesday we try to climb the Hill Cumorah. Steep enough to take sometime even though it is only 1.3 miles round trip.

As I worked in Initiatory on Wednesday it felt as if the Spirit World was through a very thin partition. Thursday we enjoyed Fayette. At the end of the film I felt like jumping up to bear my testimony. The site Sister came in too soon, so I couldn't. I know this work is true. Mom talked about Sauder's.

Friday was a double. We took lots of snacks and food so we could get through. On one break, I was standing at the sink. Mom came in and said very loudly, "Feeding your face again, I see." She then approached another brother who was sitting facing away from her at the table, hugged him from behind, and leaned around to kiss him. She died of embarrassment when she realized it wasn't me. We are quite well known, as you can imagine.

Saturday was just hard and long. I was able to train a brother, though. The Northeast Area Conference was very good on a broadcast today.

With some of my free time I am working on the George Gottlieb Zimmermann and Julianne Hoke story. The Lord is opening it up in interesting ways. All of our lives like that, really. We know how we want our life to go and then he takes us the way we should go to really grow.

One of the things I am studying is The Infinite Atonement by Elder Tad Calister. The Savior truly suffered for all the inhabitants on all worlds, a mind boggling concept. Amazing that he did it for even one of us, much less all of us, each individually. That is complete charity. I have a long way to go before I even get close. It is our journey, however. He has shown it is possible.

Love ya all Grandad
