Week 5
Dear ones
This week was more of a marathon than a sprint. For this week only we added an early Tuesday session and one early on Saturday on top of the Friday from 12:30 to 9 pm and Saturday from 8 am to 5 pm. Plus there was an hour and a half baptism coordinator training immediately after our shifts on Saturday. 13 hours is a bit much in one day, but we were blessed to be able to do it all.
Church was fun with the Oneida Branch. We will be teaching youth Sunday School (1 to 4 kids). Also Family History and Indexing. Visited a sister who is all alone, She has limited mobility and is about 65. We are glad to stop and visit.
As for the rest of the week, it was very eventful. In a sealing session it seemed to me that one wall became transparent and I saw numerous persons observing not including those for whom the work was being done; those individuals were in the room. Beyond the wall were many well-wishers, just as we have for living ordinances, but there were others whose work had not yet been done and were waiting on the living to find them and to submit them. They were allowed to watch because they were prepared and it allowed them to lessen their anxiety to witness the work go forward.
As I contemplated Adam's Garment from the Garden of Eden, I seemed to see an endless line of animals who came unto him because of the great love Adam had for all the creations of God. This became even more poignant as I understood the great angst Adam felt. He loved these animals who loved him, yet he sacrificed them pursuant to the commandments of God. In experiencing these feelings he came to understand, to a small degree, the love of the Father for both us and the Son as well as the depth of anguish the Lord God Omnipotent felt when His Son was crucified.
We also visited Niagara and Old Fort Niagara. In between we picnicked in 50 mile per hour winds. Mom and I organized the trip and I had wanted a breeze to keep it cool and to brush away the mosquitoes, but this was a bit too enthusiastic even for my tastes. Old Fort Niagara was French beginning in the 1600's, then English in 1759 and finally American for the War of 1812. It was great, they even fired an old cannon for us.
At Niagara we took Maid of the Mist to the base of the falls. Very impressive, young Sky Walker. We also visited the Devil's Whirlpool. In Lewiston we saw some great statuary regarding the Underground Railway. On top of all the rest we drove for miles along Lake Ontario, it is truly Irreantum. What a wonderful week. Wish you could have all been there.
