Week 8 In My Pretty Garden
Dearest Children and Grandchildren.....and, of course, friends!!!
In my pretty garden, the flowers are nodding.
"How do you do?" they say.
"How do you do today?"
In my pretty garden, the flowers are nodding.
I was missing my plants.....and my grandchildren....
So, I planted some hanging pots with beautiful....portable....flowers. We will be moving to an RV park at the end of June for a month during the Pageant so that Zion's Camp can be used for Pageant participants.....sigh.....
Unfortunately, that didn't help with missing my babies but that is okay because I love you MUCH more than flowers!!!!
This has been a very busy week!!! Monday was so wonderful at the temple. I was scheduled for one hour in the baptistry and ended up being there the entire 4 1/2 hour shift. It was GREAT!!! I LOVE being with the youth coming to the temple. I was reflecting this week about how some of the most precious experiences I am having on my mission I can't share with all of you. They are sacred and belong to the temple. But know that I LOVE my mission and LOVE serving the the Lord's House. My testimony of the work that is done within its walls and the absolute fact that our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is in charge of that work grows each shift, each day, each week. We are simply instruments in His hands as we labor there. Each time I go, I see evidence of that. I also LOVE serving with my beloved companion there. I can testify that as you are in your temple your capacity to love your spouse and your children...and grandchildren...as well as all of Father's children increases. Please, please go to the temple often...make it a priority!! It is in those sacred places that we find peace and can build on a sure foundation in this world of shifting values and evil.
Monday night we had an Un-Birthday Party for all of the Temple Missionaries, the Temple Presidency and Matrons and the Shift Coordinators. Almost everyone was able to come. So much fun!!
This is us!! It was a bit cold and damp....but that meant no mosquitoes so we were willing to bundle up!!!
The guy in the cowboy hat is our Down's Syndrome missionary...I've told you about him before...on his 4th mission with his parents. He was giving me a look. He is delightful and I just love him....we all do!!
On Tuesday and Thursday we were able to take care of a bunch of temporal stuff. On Thursday, we helped a missionary couple move into a new apartment....their last living quarters were infested and filthy....not habitable. It was a joy to serve but oh so hot and humid!!!
Friday was fun at the temple....I got to work in the office...busy work!! It is amazing here to go from the office to being an ordinance worker to being in the laundry to being a patron....all in one day. LOVE it!!!
Today was so sweet!! We had amazing talks in Sacrament meeting and then we had 4 extra kids in our Sunday School class. We had our sweet Kalista and then Amy, our 17-year-old who lives with her Dad and comes every other week, came for the first time. She is struggling a lot trying to figure out what she wants to believe. Our first Sunday in the branch she sat in the back of Gospel Doctrine texting and messing around on her cell phone the whole time. Today, she came to class and participated and didn't pick up her phone once during the entire class. She gave me a big hug afterwards....and then another one later....and said she loved class. I got a big hug from my Kalista also. How I love these girls and love being an instrument in the Lord's hands as He touches their lives. I will miss them so much when we leave....don't want to think about THAT....so I won't. Two kids that we are going to try to activate were still out of town so we will try next week. We were able to visit our sweet older sister. She was so glad that we came to visit.
Well, dear ones, I need to get this sent before it is time to write another one!!! I started this a long time ago but we had one of the other missionary couples come and visit before I could finish.
Love to you all!!!!
