Moving forward Week 8
Dear kids and everyone else who is too stodgy to be a kid
As a week it was very interesting. I was asked to substitute as the shift coordinator Monday. Brother Bisiq provided a schedule and we were ready to go; except the schedule did not match up with what actually happened. We had a steady stream in the baptistry so instead of operating 1 1/2 hours, it ran 3 hours. We were excited to see so many young Saints from all over the country. We also had a family come late for the early endowment session. They had planned on going to that with a follow on in sealings. We reversed it for them and the other family that was scheduled jointly for the late sealings had the session to themselves. As a result both had a session to themselves, and we completed almost all of the child and couple sealings both had brought instead of only half for each. The Lord had His hand in this and I was humbled to be part of it.
That evening we had our Unbirthday Party. Mom, of course, was busily engaged behind the scenes getting the cake and organizing everything while two other sisters took the lead publicly as well as working with Mom. It was lots of fun. 😁
Tuesday, We were busy taking care of broken things in our RV and making our home happy. This included buying flowers and hangers for Mom's hanging baskets she got at the yard sale in Hammondsport the prior week. 😝 They are very nice looking, however.
I put in about 3 miles/day walking. One day I took a walk up Cumorah and down the old road past the barrier. I found the original monument base there and some more beautiful flowers that are blooming this week.
The week ended busily, as per usual. Our Sunday lesson had 6 kids, four visiting with their mothers in the Stake Young Women's Presidency. It was excellent and the Spirit was there. (True of two awesome Sacrament Meeting talks also). We had the kids underline paragraphs 6 and 7 of the Family Proclamation in different colors after reading them. The highlighting was to show the roles of fathers, mothers and children as well as what they can do to build their own family.
On the way home we stopped and visited with one of our sisters, blessing the Sacrament and giving her a special blessing. We shared with her the Savior's visit to the Nephites. We felt the Spirit and bore our testimonies..
Last night we ate Thai food, which let us have them for leftovers. Still delicious and mom liked it, too! 😮 Talk to you next week.
Love Grandad
