Week 26 - Beauty Everywhere!!!

Dearest Children, Grandchildren, Family and Friends!!

If I could use ONE work to describe this week it would be BEAUTIFUL!!!! My heart and soul have been fed this week….and I hope that I have fed others as well!! This beauty has been found in two places: the temple and in nature.

In the temple, I have had several experiences that have been pretty amazing as I have served there. Much of the week has been normal, wonderful service but there are some things that have stood out.

On Wednesday night, we were in an endowment session together and then went to do sealings. We were able to seal the seven Arnold children to their parents!! Remember I told you several weeks ago that I had found them as I was trying to find the right Glenn Arnold to seal to his father. Another Glenn had already been attached but he had another last name and I knew that things were not right. As I researched, I found a census that not only listed the right Glenn and his older three siblings that were already attached to the parents but the 6 additional children who were nowhere in the Family Search system. I was able to add them as children and then Richard and I have been doing their work for them. Finally, on Wednesday night we had completed it all and could seal the family. How sweet it was!!!!!!!

On Friday, we were in another endowment session and I finally received a sweet answer to a question that I had asked my Father about. I am excited to follow through on the inspiration I received.

Saturday was a fabulous day of service at the temple. Our branch was coming and we were very excited. I saw Elder Lee, the other senior missionary, and Brother Ashley, who was going to be doing the work for his father, before I had my first assignment. It was good to be able to greet them. My first assignment was to serve in Initiatory so that I could help a sister receiving her own endowment. It is always a sweet experience. She was nervous but so excited! Then, I was off to the baptistry to assist our branch there. It was very sweet although not too many of the branch members came. One brother came who has been struggling with a testimony of temple work. It was a good experience for him. Dad has been helping him at church on Sunday and I think that was the main reason he came yesterday. After the baptistry, I was assigned as veil coordinator for the session with the own endowment sister and Elder Lee and Brother Ashley. It was a full session with two handicapped sisters and, although a bit hectic to get everyone where they needed to be, it was such a wonderful experience!! How I LOVE serving in the temple. I just cannot imagine NOT being able to go to that holy House!! I finished my shift back in Initiatory as a patron and it was the crowning touch to a wonderful shift and a wonderful week!!

Now for nature. This year the leaves haven’t been as brilliant as they usually are because it has been warm and dry…they evidently need rain and a hard freeze to bring out the brilliant reds and oranges. It is still beautiful.

The most beautiful time we had was on Tuesday when we went to walk in the Sacred Grove again. We aren’t sure how many more times we will be able to go there. It is always so peaceful there, and beautiful. It feels so much like the temple as we leave the noise of the world behind and enter the quiet and serenity of the Grove.

On Thursday, we went to the National Baseball Hall of Fame….Dad will tell you about that. Afterwards, we were invited to a picnic lunch at the Zvirzdin’s, a temple worker couple who live not far away. We went northwest on a little road to get to their house and as we rounded a corner we were met with the most gorgeous and picturesque vista I have seen. Dad said we should be hearing the theme from the Hobbit!

These two pictures don’t even begin to do it justice but you get the idea!!

We have gone by this field of wild flowers twice this week and just had to take a picture of them. They are on the freeway so there wasn’t any way we could really stop. Today, I decided to take the picture through the front window. These valiant little flowers prove the fact that it has been quite warm this fall. Usually the flowers are long gone by now. A message to all of us to stay firm and steadfast until the very end!!!

Well, dear ones….that is all I have for you this week. We are starting our next to last week of missionary service. Hard to believe that the time has flown by so fast. We have a lot of things going on so this week will probably even go faster!!! Until this time next week…..

 Love you and miss you!!!
